To quote Jackie Gleason "How Sweet It Is." Indeed, very sweet.

Thanks for sharing. I'd be curious to see the settings on the Dual Showman.

I didn't know JJ played through a Fender much but it doesn't surprise me.

I have a '61 Blonde Showman head that I used some for bass, then dismantled to restore the cabinet (it had been painted black, etc.) It's been apart for some time now but that way the guitar player I play with can't borrow it (OUCH!)

Time to get my act (& amp) together!

And build a matching cab for it at the same time.

The Sunn 200S cabs (2x15) were the best sounding cabs made, in my opinion. In had a Sunn head and cab to match - fantastic sound.

Still have my old '62, I last used it onstage with a progressive surf/instrumental rock band I was in back in the 90's.

I swapped the JBL's for a pair of E-V 15BX's which ended the farting out. We were a very loud band and it performed very well and was totally reliable. The tone is just freaking amazing.

Roly Salley, Chris Isaak's bassist uses a pair of single 15" (tone ring cabinet) Showmans on stage at BIG venues and his rig is just killer. With good FOH, these things can still get it done in a big room.

They were great cab's. I gigged a pair of them loaded with D140 F's for a little while. Rather light weight for the day too! I sold one, swapped out the drivers in one, and then sold it when I migrated to the SVT. The drivers i kept, ended up in a pair of legion sound trap PA speakers that are still in use in one band I play in. They have been reconed a few times over the years though...

That blonde Showman rig is nothing but sweet!

My version of it these days is a Music man RD100 into a Johnk_10 inspired 2x15. Vintage look but thoroughly modern designed neo cab. I like that rig a lot thought my GK and Gb rig's seem to get more work. Gotta get the blues & surf band fired up to change that!

I played bass through one with a dual 15 cabinet in the late 70's. I still have the head.

I played through a Sunn 200S with 2 Sunn 215 cabs with JBL's back in the late 60's. Beautiful tone but alas, not quite enough power for loud rock. I also played through a Showman with a 215 fender cab with JBL's in the mid 60's, which sounded pretty good but lacked bottom.
