Fender heads choice
I need a bass head.
I have listened Fender M-80 bass head, loved a lot its sound. I can buy it at $620. Does it worth it?
There are Fender 400 Pro for $250 and Fender BXR 400 for $215 bass heads nearby. How do they sound comparing to M-80 head?
Thanks for opinions.

The 400 pro is a good amp. Not as keen on the BXR. Don't knew the M80 sorry.
The main question is what's the adequate price for the M-80 head.

If the M-80 bass head is related to the M-80 series for guitar (red knobs, from the 90s or thereabouts), I would take a look at the 400 Pro instead. Should be more power for a lot less money and I suspect it probably sounds better too.

Also, in the US the current eBay completed prices indicate that the 400 Pro is worth about $150-200, the M-80 significantly less (no bass heads completed on eBay lately but the M-80 rack and cabinet guitar heads are going for $50-130). I know your market is likely to be completely different but $620 still seems like a lot of money for an amp that's not particularly prized, especially with those other newer options on the table at much lower prices.
if the m80 works the way the guitar amp works it will be really gainy and harsh, not really the thing to get unless you are into a kind of ss marshallesque sound
