Fender Rumble 15

Sign in to disble this ad
Anyone use a Fender Rumble 15 for practice? I am a new student to the bass guitar. I have three basses, Fender MIJ Jaguar, MIM Fender P-Bass, and an Ibanez SG300 with MK4 Pups.

I practice to instuctional DVD's. The 75 is difficult to match the sounds to emulate my bass sound to the DVD audio. The 15 is easier to replace my bass sound over the DVD, but I get a slight distortion at medium volume and EQ levels.

I understand the amp is only 15 watts, but the distortion is at low volume.

Just wondering if anyone can provide level settings that will reduce distortion at a slightly higher volume level.

Not really. That's kinda typical for small amps like that in that particular configuration (15-20 watts, 8in. speaker) especially the Rumble 15, they get a little 'farty', even at lower volumes. Mine is like that. I put up with it, mainly because it sounds "good enough" for what I got it for - practicing relatively quiet in a tenny apartment (size was actually the main consideration when I got it) If it really bothers you, get a slightly more powerful amp with a slightly larger speaker (say 20 watts and a "10). It might give you a little more headroom.
