Fender Rumble 15 Rattling Speaker ?

Sign in to disble this ad
The speaker in my practice has slowly began to rattle. I removed it for a visual inspection and found no sign of damage to it. I really don`t know anything about this sort of thing. Is there reason to believe it is actually the speaker with nothing visibly detectable?
I did also remove the back cover and see nothing out of place there either. All looked to be in place. It just sounds like a bad speaker.
Anyone familiar with this sort of thing? Thanks & take care. Bob

Did you ever play it loud enough for it actually to BE the speaker?

Put the speaker back and pull the amp chassis out and put it on a padded surface and run it that way, just to make sure it's not some vibration-induced electronic problem. You'll probably have to extend the speaker connection. Some types of electronic problems can masquerade as blown speakers.
