Question Fender Rumble 2X8 Cab

Sign in to disble this ad
I believe they are new. Has anyone tried
any of the rumble cabs?
I am considering one of these to pair up with my 1X15 Cab
and GK MB 500 head.

I have not played out of 8" cabs before. Not sure what to expect.

It'd be about equivalent in output as the 15. I can't say much more.

2X8

Are you talking about this 2X8 for UB? I'm looking for a 2X8 for my AI Clarus.

I played through one with a Rumble head and it unremarkable. My guess is that a better head would have helped a lot.

Thumbs down cool

One guy here (Gougedeye?) bought the new Rumble 112 cab and stacked the new 2x8 on top of it. He loved it and said it puts out a lot of sound.
Personally I think it would be a better fit stacked on a 115 than a 210 would be. Just a guess. Clearer mids.

I've been using a Markbass 2x6 combo with a Sonic Micro Mini 1x15 with excellent results! My theory would be that the Fender 2x8/1x15 would sound just as good!

Just looking for a small, inexpensive practice cab. I am pretty sure it isn't going to replace my Berg AE212 for gigs, so I'm more interested in how either the 2x8 or 1x12 sound by themselves.

Yeo, I got a 2X8 and a 1X12 and a Rumble 350 head. It works great for most things I do. The stack puts out loads of sound and has remarkable low end. Individually, the cabs sound nice, neither as full as with the whole stack. The one thing I don't like about this head is the DI is controlled by the Master volume. The best thing...very light weight and portable. One trip from the car to the stage and I'm in. Good luck.

The 2 x 8 is my go to right now - I just got it and love how it sounds. I have the 1 x 12 too, truthfully it sounds great with bot cabs - I just use the 2 x 8. I like the response and tight sound I get for what I play.

Just to put things in context, I am a hobbiest (I don't get paid to play) and perform jazz and concert music - I'm not competing with loud drummers or Marshall stacks. I picked up the 350 head with 2 x 8 cab and 1 x 12 cab to have a light weight rig that sounded good. If I used both cabs, I could probably keep up fine with a rock n roll drummer. I use fretless Stingray HH and Ray 34 through it - sounds great for my current situation.

For comparison, I also have Fender Bassman TV Duo 10 - that has THE sound and capability I want, but at twice the weight (and me twice the age I was when I was a rock n roller) I just can't be hauling back and forth to rehearsals and gigs.
