fender rumble 2x8 vs 1x12
Hi I'm looking to buy an inexpensive small and lightweight cab for small gigs like a pub or coffee shop for both electric and acoustic bass guitar. I'm looking into the fender rumble series. They have the price point and weight im looking for. My question is which one to buy? I only want one seeing as the price for both i could get way more cab for my money. I will be running a GK MB200 head. I realise the best answer would be my own ear i'd just like a suggestion before i get my local l&m to order one. Any suggestions for other brands that are comparable would be great also

Fender Rumble Neo Cabs
Hi Brad, I just picked up a Rumble 350 head on sale and have been looking long and hard at a pair of Rumble 112 cabs.
A member by the name of Gougedeye owns the Rumble 350 head and 2x8 + 112 neo stack and has gigged with them extensively. He speaks very highly of the rig.

I did read his posts. Definetly answered my questions as to whether or not i should look farther into these cabs. I'm not sure which one to look into. I only want one of the cabs though

I'm seeing these cabs at 399! An ampeg 210AV is 299, and i'd bet it's categorically better than either. A genz benz focus 112 is 349. Hell a gk neo 112 is 399.
If there's something about these rumble cabs that really floats your boat, cool. But the GC pricing i found says there's better for equal or less money. and that doesn't even count shopping used gear. for what those rumble cabs cost, i'd suggest another route. IMO, IME, AFAIK, My $0.02, and 2ETO. good luck.

Get a 2x8. 12s just don't feel/sound right on bass for some reason to me and many others.

To my ears, I love the sound of my Schroeder 112. That with my Genz Benz 3.0 is my small gig rig of choice.
I've played a couple of gigs where the Rumble 350 and the 2x8 and 1x12 were backline gear. Good amp, no frills, and no complaints.

I like my MB200 with a 4 ohm Eden EX112. I think I got it for like $220 brand new too. Weighs 30 lbs.

well i like the idea of the ampeg 210av. that cab seems like it would be pretty cool. im a fan of not having a tweeter and sealed is always a plus.

that eden ex112 looks interesting also. ok so scratch the fender. its nice to have people to help in the research process. i think im now narrowing it down to the eden and the ampeg
