| | | | i cant say anything about the 100 but the 30 is great. Actually went way past my expectations. Sounds great and is pretty loud. Cant use it for big gigs but i can use it for practices no problem. |

And the stupid flashing red lights made me think I was killing the amp until I got home and googled it and found out the lights do that as some sort of "Star Power" or whatever they called it. I was slightly disturbed. |

Yeah, the red pulsating light is kinda cheesy, but it's a very good practice amp. Would also be good for low volume/acoustic based gigs. I dont think it would keep up with a loud drummer or guitarist tho. |

The red light on mine died after a week or two of band practice.

I could achieve some decent tones out of it. I believe its like 60lbs so it wasnt too heavy (I would just bear hug it rather than use the handle). I used it for practice and even for gigs; although I would not recommend this as a primary gigging amp unless you doing smaller venues or have PA support. This amp suited me well and helped me earn funds to purchase music equip that fit my sound a lil' more. I would suggest trying it out and seeing how your bass or a bass you like playing out of it sounds. I was able to resale it years later for almost the same price I bought it for. Fin.

Its just that the Ampeg BA-112 I have didn't really cut it, I felt as though I was pushing it and beating the **** out of my bass and strings.. so i was looking for a little more power with out all the weight to carry.. Thanks.. |

| | | | I've used one as a practice amp for 2 years now. It's been great until recently. I play with a drummer who seems to get louder by the week. When I turn up volume and my attack it lacks some power and response. Farts and distorts. So, not so great with a loud drummer. Like stated before, the lows are very nice under normal conditions and a not so excitable drummer.
Added plus is the 5 year warranty. Replaced my first one at the local shop where I purchased it. Tweeter was bad and the shop just gave me a new rumble and sent the old one to Fender. |

Maybe My Ampeg BA-112 would do it if I really pushed it but I didn't want to so I figure if I have a Little over the 50 Watt I should be good and no stress on anybody or anything.. and the drummer is a bit loud.. LOL |

It wasn't a loud gig and it was in a small café, so I can't tell you how it will do at very high volumes. But it worked very well in that setting.

| | | | I was in a band playing guitar and my bass buddy had the 100, very nice amp, seemed to do fine with the loud drummer, my 212 guitar combo, tenor sax, trombone, vocals. I currently have the rumble 60, both have very good tone, etc. And you can switch off the lights but it's pretty cool in some circumstances.

As a practice amp it's pretty good and fairly versatile. I've recorded with it on a band demo(which actually gets occasional airplay locally!) and it sounded fine. I did put handles on the sides like the new Rumble 300 to make it easier to schlep around when I was gigging with it which is well worth doing if you have to transport it much. |

I've used one as a rehearsal amp for a couple of years now - plenty of volume, plenty of lows on hand. The 4-band EQ is nice, effects loops, etc., as a rehearsal & small-to-small/medium room gig amp goes - it delivers. Obviously, the 100-watt version is not designed as a stand-alone for big rooms, but it's got ya covered for everything else.

Seems to me if you want to move up from that Ampeg, you'll need more than a Rumble 100. I might reconsider that purchase, or wait until you can get something that's better.

It was my choice not to abuse it in that way so i figured if I get something between the 50 watt and the 100 watt i will be in real good shape.. |

| | | | ^both the 60 and the 100 are discontinued but are still great deals! And IME, Fender is pretty conservative with their wattage ratings, they tend to seem louder than other brands with the same wattage rating. That also might be because the tone is so clean/warm.
