I went to a audition and the lead guy had a new Rumble 100 for me to play thru, I'd never even seen or heard of this combo before that. In his den with drummer, guitar-ists, I was fairly impressed with this amps' volume but yeah not so much the EQ capabilities.
Anyway I got the gig. At our last of 3 rehearsals he asked if I wanted to buy the combo as he had no use for it now that he found a bassist, he sold to me for half of what he paid for it 5 weeks earlier, not a bad deal. I told him I prefer to use my own gear at the upcoming gigs. I kept a tiny Gorilla w/8" driver combo at my PC for home practice. I felt the Rumble 100 might offer more for that use.
I really get alot of use out of the front panel features. I run a line from my PC to Rumble then use the headphone out to listen to iTunes/YouTube/CD's, etc while I rehearse cover tunes, esp late nite. Sometimes during the day I use it without headphones and it serves its' purpose well for that. Though that little built in flashin-red-disco-lite in the bottom port gets no use. Well maybe late nite when my PC room is all dark I'll flip it on, just for fun, it pulses to the music.
Again, not the best gigging amp at all, tho a couple summers ago I did use it at a alt-country gig outside a small biker bar where they wanted to visit/talk over the music while we played in the background on the patio/deck during happy hour. It worked well for that and back then I used a KSD-70's,5 string, fretless jazz bass with it. 'Course, everytime a Harley came or left it would totally drown out the entire band.
So for me and maybe others, this little amp has its' place for those who might need the features it has to offer. Now, it sits next to my PC for home use, won't go to my auditions/rehearsals/gigs but still works well at 3 yrs old or so. Just my .02 on this combo. Peace, ernie
