| | | | That's a beautiful 'old school' collection there. I think I even see that JBL chrome dust cap peaking out from one of the cabs.
Beautiful collection. |

How did those 1x15 cabs sound? Did they go low, and were they peaky in the mid-bass? I've never heard one. |

The cab has an E140-8.
Does go super low, but has great low mids that cut through a band nicely.

It is a quasi-ported box.

We had live bands in those days (mostly highschool kids having just put together their first band). The guitarist had a Dual Showman, with a Fuzzface and a Crybaby, and he could really play! They did Jumpin' Jack Flash and I thought that was the coolest thing I had ever seen or heard! I still think those are the finest looking amps ever, though I have never owned one. |

What's in the larger cab?

But then I'd have to deal with the 200 odd screws holding the back on !! |

I hate you!
Just kidding, nice basses & amps! I had a Showman with a single 15" tone ring cabinet years ago. I loved the head for bass, but the cabinet just didn't sound that great (to me...). It was incredible for guitar, but I generally used the head with a standard 2-15" Fender cab. |

Had up to three (one blond, two blackface) at one time, all through JBL K140F loaded cabinets, kept one (two were stolen), and finally in the late 70's went the big power amp and Alembic F2B route. While being more powerful, didn't ever get back to that Showman crunch | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
