Fender TD 600 vs. Mesa Big Block

Sign in to disble this ad
Ive been looking at both of these bad boys and I'm honestly wondering how different they are. I mean, both USA made, on-board tube overdrive yada-yada-yada. The only reason I'm comparing the two is because the TD 600 is a few hundred cheaper and I was looking at saving some dough

This is the correct answer - for any of these types threads...

It's kinda funny, actually: "I want the Mesa, but will "Brand X" do the same thing for hundreds less?"

No offense intended towards the OP - I swear - but this sort of thread pops up all the time...

You sure the Fender is US made? I thought their amps were Mexican made.

Never played the Fender but have heard nothing but compliments. Love the mesa.

That big block is one hell of an amp. I tried one out and it gave my SVT a good run for it's money... Probably my favorite hybrid amp, and if I couldn't use my SVT it would be a tough choice between the BB750 and an Aguilar AG500 for me.

The TB-600 (yes, TB, like talkbass) is a great amp, I love mine. The Big Block was the other amp I considered when I bought the Fender, but I couldn't find one to demo. They get lots of love here!

The tone stacks look very similar. The Mesa goes down to 2 ohms (TB-600 doesn't, but the TB-1200 does) while the Fender doesn't require a footswitch to engage the overdrive channel or mute function. Choose either amp, it's win-win!
