Fender TV Duo Ten 350 WATT tube amp 65lbs Any other owners out there?

I've had my eye out for a nice Tube Combo that was, light, simple and sounded great. Classic Bass tone and friendly with pedals. I have been using a MarkBass 2x10 combo so that was the amp to beat.

I played one of these and had to walk out the door with it! Haven't gigged with it yet but really loving it so far!

Check em out and let me know your thought's. I'll let you know how it gigs. There is very little on any forums, you tube etc... few consumer reviews. But Damn... It's really good so far. Got it for $970 out the door with a 30 day return to try her out. And it looks great!!!!

Just FYI, that's a hybrid - not a tube amp. Glad you found something that you like the sound of though, those things sure look sharp!

I have the TV Ten, 150 watt, and it is clearly one of the best sounding amps out there for vintage tones. It is a hybrid, but I would not trade it for an all tube amp. Sounds and looks amazing.

Thanks for the info... hell if it gets me to 350 watts and sounds that tubey I'm ok with the hybrid aspect. I have a Bassman 10 that got a great bass sound but not loud enough and needed the lightweight reliability of the MarkBass Combo. This amp seems to take the best of both. I'm getting a gutsy SVT tone with a VT bass Pedal in front too!

i think that the 65 pounds might be a little conservative on the weight, but not sure

I have never used the 10 Duo, but I have the TV 15 and lovvvveee it! It has the vintage deep bass and the highs are very decent as well.

The look and build quality are excellent.

53.2 lbs with a accurate travel scale. That's quite a surprise.

Great classic Bassman tone. Its a great little amp you have there. My only disappointment is the fact you can't run an extension cabinet...

I've been using mine and gigging it for about a year. I perform a blues band with some metal and funkiness thrown in. it can hang with all of it.

I love it so. It records really well, gets loud enough for a drummer and can break up and get nasty when pushed.

it has plenty of lows.

at the jams, other bassists are leery of it, esp. the guys that play active basses, but it can hang.

it fits in the trunk of my honda civic along with my gig bag and bass.

the combo isn't designed to get those piercing highs, mainly because it doesn't have a tweeter, so that is one feature i kind of miss, but, if you hit the bright switch, it can get pretty snappy..

I dig it. Fender did the bassists some good with this combo..

I recorded a practice with a room mike and the rough recording sounded very balanced mix wise. I've had too many amps that sounded great alone and not in a mix. This seems to do that and kill in the mix. The attack was bubbly and the high register playing fit in much smoother and integrated into the bass sound instead of "Jumping Out" So far so good!

Live show on a Pro Stage tonight! Visually I'm pretty excited just to wheel her out. Going Passive Fretless Five Jazz Bass with her. VT Bass pedal to give an overdive here and there.

Those Fender TV Amps sound really good. I was disapointed that they won't do an extention cab because I was ready to buy one last year. Don't believe the 65 lb. weight spec. I don't know what scale they used to come up with that but I have picked up one of those TV Duo Tens. It's more than 65 lbs.

I weighed it twice on two scales. That said the handle and dimensions make it seem heavier than 53 lbs. But it's light and very attractive on stage. All very nice if not essential. But the sound. AWESOME!!!! I could not be happier. Another bassist preformed before me and from the start it sounded amazing. I went up and in hindsight I never touched a knob. Just played. Sounded soooo good. Anyone want to buy a MarkBass Combo?

Played another show and amp worked great without PA support. I was having a tough time with the higher register.... The bass solo in american girl just wasn't there... (I'm thinking any gig without PA support I should only bring my my Active Lakland over a Passive Jazz.) So I hit the bright and twisted the treble on the amp but nothing too dramatic happened. The amp did the job and could have been pushed more if needed. I had a simple true bypass pedal chain off at the time but needs this needs some investigating. Amp was at my knees so who knows. I think the note may have phased out against the guitar amp next to it? The tone in the room was really good all night.

So worried about parting with my MarkBass Combo. It's awesome. But love the Bassman tone. The TV Dou is really great but the no cabinet option had me a bit worried, and possibly justification for keeping the Mark Bass Combo. I got a AB and run into the two amps. The difference in attack is very apparent. The end result was not very nice as the attack dulled and it sounded a bit chorusey.

So I tried the Bassman line out into the MarkBass XLR in. DAMN!!!! Attack and tone was dead on! It was awesome. Ran the Mesa 15" extension cab out of the Markbass and now I'm in heaven with a 950 Watt (my MB 2x10 says 600 watts... really) 4x10, 1x15 beast.
