Settled on an old Trace preamp and Crest poweramp to go with the Mesa 2x15 with EV 15 BX's. Sounds rounder and smoother than the M9 head,

it's 225/ side into 4 ohms. Old school (early 1990's) ratings mean it's got some balls, nonetheless.

The Mesa cab looks great! I am sure it sounds just as great with those 15BX drivers in it.

Yes, a 421, good eye! The gold string is a Dean Markley Alchemy, which has a clearer tone than the super round .125 B string. They don't make the sets any more but I have a stash of the 'B' strings! The new Dean Markley Helix strings cure all that and I will be playing them from now on. The 'B' string response is fantastic, it's just as clear and bright as the E string, something I've never heard to this degree; exciting for me!

Vail has taken his proverbial ball and gone home. He didn't like people calling him on his opinions, given his long standing history of playing with 'world class musicians' with well over 5000 shows and over a hundred recording dates.

He's also removed his profile, minus the listing of 'world class musicians' to remind you what a loss you've sustained.

That's a shame. I had not seen any of this; life is too short for this stuff, at least I do my best to try and get along with everyone.

Sorry to see you go, Vail, hope you change your mind about this.

Wait, what? I don't think I'm understanding you... This thread looks tame so far so what gives?

Giving him the benefit of the doubt, Vail hasn't put his best foot forward in his TB posting to date. His people skills appear to be rusty at best.
