Finally found the perfect amp for me!! Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0!

Sign in to disble this ad
After searching and going thru so many different amps I finally found the best one!! (for me of course) The Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0. Wow what an amp! I had a tone in my head that I always tried to get from my Jazz but never could. I`ve tried Warwick Profet, Fender 800 Pro, Ashdown Mag 600, Ampeg B2R (or BR2..) and it wasn't exactly there. The Ashdown was my favorite between all these amps but now with the Shuttle, the Ashdown is for sell..haha.

I first plugged in and I got THE tone I wanted with all the EQ set flat! How awesome is that!. A played for hours last night and never even touched the EQ...no need to. With the tube preamp gain at 3 o'clock I got the "crunchyness" I want when I dig in it hard and with the mid-scoop thing on I get the nice clean, very very clean, slap tones.

I`m so happy I got that amp!!

I love the Shuttle series amps. I'm sure I'll get another someday. The 3.0 I had for a short while was one of my favourite amps to date, especially with its incredible feature set. The DI, the headphones out, the Aux in, the capabilities to serve as a pre driving a power amp... Just wonderful. And the weight? Gosh.

Yeah its great! Now I just need to get a better cab to is lightweight and is more suitable for the Shuttle. Right now I have a Warwick WCA 410, which is way to heavy for me and isn't all that great actually. I`ll be looking to downsize/upgrade the cab. Possibly an Avatar 2x10 NEO, the Genz Benz 210 neo or something similar and eventually add a 1x12 neo in the future (or 2x12, depends on the bank account)

Keep an eye on the TB classifieds. A few weeks back there was a shuttle 112 cab with the saddle. Just add your head and have a combo!

A big +1. I'm really enjoying the ShuttleMax 12. My Rob Allen Mouse sounds absolutely beautiful with it. I'm diggin' the FET channel. If Genz doesn't make a ShuttleMax 18 or 9, maybe they could just make a Shuttle 9.1 (with the FET channel).

I have been thinking about getting rid of my EBS HD350 and going to the Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0. I am waiting until I play one in AZ next month.

I love my Shuttle 6.0. Plenty of power, great tone and so light! I bought the carrying case (not the rack mount) and pop it right into my gig bag.

Thanks Genz Benz!

I too love my Shuttle 6.0 and I've found that there is some special magic going on tonewise when I plug any of my hollowbody basses into it. It really brings out the wood in the bass!!!

Yeah I might get on of those cases too. Although I know I will get comments from the band members like "Thats a nice purse you have there"... lol.

That's what my wife said when she saw it. Ridiculously small and light. Easier to carry than a laptop.

I think I actually find the case TOO small. I can fit the speaker cable, power cord, one patch chord and MAYBE a small tuner into the tiny pocket on the bag. That still leaves my D.I., XLR cable, an extension cord/power bar, back up patch cord, back up speaker cable, music stand light, and chart book. All of these extras can't fit in a gig bag (especially a large book). So if I use the Shuttle case I have to take an extra bag just for rest of my gear. Lately I've been using a bigger laptop case with a bunch of pockets. It's larger and heavier than the Shuttle bag, but I can get all my crap into it...

So if you are considering the Shuttle bag, just make sure you don't need to fit too much extra stuff.

Hey Joe,

All I ever bring with me is a patch cord, tuner, speaker cable and power cable. Thats it! So that small Shuttle case should work well enough for me. Maybe you should sell me yours

I use a Shuttle 6.0-12T combo and it's great! I can't imagine getting an amp from anyone else at this point.

Congrats! I've been using my fender jazz with the shuttle 6.0 for over a year and a half, and it's still my favorite setup. Note, I've been through TONS of gear, and this has been my one constant, and most used, setup. Having the gain at 3 o'clock really does give you that little bit of tube breakup with a jazz that sounds very nice! I use my shuttle as a preamp on big gigs with a big ole poweramp! It's killer!

I'm a middle-aged beginner. I bought a Shuttle 6.0 almost two years ago. I just played my first two gigs. I wish I was playing bass for the last 35 years, but I don't mind skipping all those years without this amazing, space-age amp. People just cannot believe that a 4 lb box can produce 600 watts of power and sound so good.

Same here - I bought a pair of 12T speakers with the 6.0 and the sound is fantastic. Most of the time I only need one 12T. If you're looking for cabs, check the G-B 12T and any of their combo 12's.

As far as I'm concerned G-B has me as a customer for good.
