Finally got to try some Markbass gear.

All of you fine folks who have posted your experiences for good and bad about Markbass gear have made me curious to try it out when I could. Thanks to Omaha getting it's first Guitar Center recently I decided to check out the new store today and hopefully test out some Markbass gear for the first time.

All I can say after running a J-Bass through the 210 combo is WOW!!!!! I was able to dial up pretty much every tone I wanted from it with ease, and what a loud little sucker that thing could be! Let's just say that I'm impressed and now I gotta figure out about what to do with my old amp gear, and if I want just an LMIII head and sort out the cab thing, or go with the combo, etc. I'm sold.

Heh, I was just thinking that the 210 combo is my least favorite piece of Markbass gear. Did you get to try out others? If not, you're really in for a surprise.

Dang Bro!!

You could have driven over to Lincoln to their GC!

Seriously, though....I have the CMD 121P with the NY121 cab and (for me) it is heaven....absolutely PERFECT for smaller gigs and especially for rehearsals.

Anyway, glad you were able to give them a go!!

Now go grad your rig!!

It was pretty much two heads, an LMIII and I believe an 800, and the combo, with a couple of 1x10 extension cabs in stock this morning. The heads weren't plugged into any cabs, and I thought I'd give a quick run on the combo. I'm probably more interested in buying the LMIII head and go with separate cab or cabs of my own choosing than going with a combo format. The cabs I own now would work for the moment, but I may go for a decent 4 ohm 4X10 as far a general pupose rig is concerned.

Needless to say though, I was able to suss out the tone capability of the head, well enough with the combo; considering that it's pretty much the same as the LMIII head. It does have a tonality I really like, and the headroom as far as I'm concerned.
