Finding problems with amps

Hi, I'm about to buy a used amp, and I get to see it in person, I was just wondering, what should I look for that is well, bad?
For example, something like torn carpets or torn cones? I really don't know anything to look for. Any help?

first pulg in and make sure it works..you will spot a busted cone pretty easy (either you see it or it sounds bad).

make sure that all the controls/pots work and do what they are supposed to do without scratches.

ask about any repairs (if any).

ask for a 'test drive'.. you never know how a amp will sound in a band/gig situation.

i don't think that looks are so important but look for things that might compromise the structural integrity (cracked wood or something like that)
