This Friday I purchased two sl112's. They are replacing my GS210 cab. Today I had my first gig with the sl112's. It is the first time I played with a 12 inch speakers in a live performance. It sounded great played through a svt-3 pro amp with Fender American Precision with flats. The sl112's have enough bass-weight and still a quick response. I think the sound is very much in the Aguilar-ballpark , so mission accomplished for Dave Boonshoft. I didn't notice any annoying mid-tones that are associated with neo-speakers. In fact i got lots of compliments on the sound (and looks). My back totally agrees with light weight of the cabs especially after a 3 hour set. |

Have a gig on Saturday, will report back. Amp used is a SWR 550X, have a Streamliner 600 coming in end of march.

It has everything to do with the way the cross-over is designed in these new SL cabs. |
