First night with the Little Mark II

First, thank you to KJung for the great deal/sale of his well-loved Little Mark II bass head!
I was in Tampa all day today (about 2 hours from where I live). Got home 1 hour before rehearsal (45 minutes away from rehearsal), and grabbed my gear...and saw that my bass head had come in via UPS. Grabbed that too and headed out.
When I arrived at rehearsal, found it was a "live" rehearsal outside at a picnic area where our keyboard player lives.
We proceeded to play for 3 hours.
Took me about 1 minute to dial in my tone.
Amp settings: gain-4; master-1.5; eq-low-5; mid-low-5.5; mid-high-5.5; high-6; the two filters were set to 1.
I drove my 15" cab with the Little Mark.
We are a 5-piece (two guitars, keys, bass, drums), and I had PLENTY of volume.
The biggest difference between my previous setup and this one was the punch-absolutely awesome. I had great definition in the mids and highs (Yellow Moon by the Neville Brothers pushed me over the edge-I was in bass heaven!)

Thanks again Ken- I have an outdoor festival next Saturday in front of 3,000, and I know it's going to do great with the power and pre-eq direct out to the pa. Also have my 2nd gig with my other band coming up in 2 weeks-looking forward to that as well.

Now I just need a nice 4x10 to round it out and I'll be good!

Wonderful! Thanks for the easy transaction. It was a bit hard for me to give that head up, since it served me so well for so long. As some know, I moved to the F1 as my primary gigging head when they came out, and now finally to the F500, so still very much in the 'Markbass family'.

Enjoy!!!!!

People rave about the tone I get with my LMII, and I set it flat! All EQ knobs are nooned, and both filters off. The only time I adjust anything is if there is too much rumble in the room, or if I slap a song. Then I use the VPF filter.

Lately I have been debating about getting a big tube amp, just because Ive never had one and can now afford it, but I wont be selling my LMII though!

Amen, I have the CMD 121H combo and have played it with a horn band with a too-loud drummer. It held its own as long as the mix didn't boost the bass drum too much (one of the reasons I quit that band, no amp could compete with that crap). I have also played medium-sized clubs in a classic rock band without PA support. It held its own there, too. Had the pleasure to step off the stage and let another guy play it at a blues jam. I tell ya, that thing sounded sweet. You'd think there was at least a 115 up there. EQ was all flat except the VLE was at 1-o-clock. And it sounded the same at the back of the room as it did on stage (don't know if that was the room or not, though).

Anyway, my hat's off to Markbass. You can believe the hype.

Thanks for the feedback and "amens" guys. I got turned on to Markbass after playing through the 12" combo Markbass at a couple of Open Jams...I couldn't believe the sound it put out, so figured getting the 500 watt head, paired with my 1x15, would work well...and it does!!! I'll be excited to run a 4x10 as well, so see how that sounds-sure it's going to be great!
