Hello Talk Bass members.

This looks like a cool forum.

Wondering where to direct a question on Markbass cabinet (New York 121) db level control dial?

Thanks

Your in the right section............welcome !

I don't have that cab, but if you are inquiring in general about the turnable dail that is labeled in db increments, it is a pad to control the level of the high frequency horn.

Hey Guys,

Thanks and yes just wondering about that.

Higher the number (0-16) higher the frequency, or higher the number = more pad = less frequency response?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that in this case, it just controls the output (in other words, volume) of the tweeter. It doesn't actually have any bearing on the freq. response directly, though you'll obviously notice a dip/peak in the highest highs as you change it.

Also, welcome to TalkBass! Enjoy your time here, get familiar with reading the stickies and most importantly, have fun! And stay out of the For Sale forums, unless you want to get attacked by GAS for the rest of your life.

Ray's right, just think of it as a volume knob for the tweeter.
