First 'real' amp.

Hey TB, i need some advice.

I've been playing bass for around 3.5 years, and have never had a decent amp. My current amp fast on every single note, and has gone to ****. i bought it used. I play slap and fingerstyle, and i aspire to the tone of Flea, marcus miller, or Victor Wooten.

Anywho, i have been working a bit lately, as i am a student, and it was my birthday a few days ago. i now have saved 1025$.

What is a good head/cab suggestion? Brands? models?
I would prefer new, but used is fine.

I was leaning toward the Ashdown MAG300H and MAG 410T for 1049$ at the bass centre, australia. I am also interested in getting the Hartke HA2500 head and the GK BLX 410?

Can TBers share their wisdom with me?

Much appreciated. =)

I'f you're gonna spring on the Ashdown Mag Head/Cab, save a bit extra and ask Bass Centre to do you a deal on the MAG600H and the 410. I did and the few extra watts is worth it.

thankyou so much for a quick reply.

How much more should i expect to save? GAS is affecting me so bad atm. Are you sure they sell the 600H and MAG410T cheaper as a bundle?
