The 7 PRO's haven't had a great track record so far... early days tho.

I'd look for something lighter in weight but just as good in tone. The SVT410HLF is a VERY low voiced cab & IME (I used to own one) with not a great deal of clarity.
I'd look at 2nd hand- to get a far better deal- look on the TB classifieds.
Genz Benz Shuttle amps-600w or 900w are s;posed to be great. Mark bass heads are great & LMII's can be found cheap. & I'd look for a 2x12" cab or 4x10" cab with NEO dymium speakers. Again - Mark Bass, Genz Benz or Avatar cabs.
IMO You could get that sound/power for 1/2 the weight & price. Add a VT bass pedal to get THE AMPEG sound- these are $149 on Ebay & can be found in great cond 2nd hand also
BUT- IF you are decided on that rig- it IS no doubt good & will do all you need. I'd just recommend a lighter & possibly more reliable option.

I can agree with the comment on the 410HLF, I had one and had to let it go because its really boomy, and the low end was actually just mud on stage. Its great at low volumes but when you crank it, watch out, you'll need boots haha

Also, what style music do you play ?
The style can help with the recommendations, and what bass do you use?

Also, i noticed prices where about the same so i would suggest this one
http://www.humbuckermusic.com/orbatesmpo21.html

Its light, and super awesome all around, i dont know when you would need more then a 500W head and 600W cab! And its all like 60lbs total, and cheaper then the other two :P

And i want it too...

This is a better choice IMO.. I'd still go lighter but you might find this is fine. This 4x10 cab would be far less boomy than the SVT410HLF but would still handle your 5 string's Low B string OK - as would a 2x12" cab

Do U mean acoustic bass or guitar???.... electric guitar??

U CAN play acoustic guitar or bass thru this(& the Ampeg) rig as long as they have a pick up in them.

Elec guitar thru em too is OK- just- won't hurt the amp/cab but would sound better thru a guitar amp. Where a bass can easily hurt a guitar amp's speakers

whats the diff?

http://www.humbuckermusic.com/orbatesmpo21.html

so what would be better for low end? 2x10 or 2x12?
These 2 cabs are basically the same just different speaker sizes for different prices....

and what does IMO Mean lol

I meant acoustic amps lol

Yeah it IS white, but Orange come in orange & Black too :-) The Orange terror amp is s'posed to be great, tho I've heard the cabs are good tho shy on the low end.

I could be wrong tho :-/ I've not played the isobaric Orange cabs. & have hear both good & bad reports.......

U DON'T have to get the SAME brand cab as amp. You CAN, - either way is cool. As long as the cab can handle the power (wattage) of the amp you'll be cool. So If the amp U get is about 500w get a cab that can handle around that too. Thats about it.

Oh & remember most amps-other than all tube- will put out the suggested max power- in the GK Fusion-550w I think- at 4 ohms & about 1/2 that power into 8 ohms. So unless U plan to get 2 x 8 ohm cabs, your amp will run at 1/2 power with ONE 8 ohm cab.
This IS the case with the Orange amp link.
So U could look at getting a 4 ohm cab with one of these amps.

Oh!!!!

Whats the Diff?? One is a 2x10 & one is a 2x12- So the 2x12" will most usually be a bit louder As a 2x15" would be again.

IMO a 2x10" isn't enough for a loud-ish band. a 2x12" is, as is a 4x10 etc...

I'd look for a 4 ohm 4x10" or two 8 ohm 2x10"s or 2x12"s- two cabs of 8 ohms to = 4 ohms.

Read the 'sticky' about ohms & impedances at the top of AMPS forum.

& IMO = in my opinion. IME= in my experience.

Basically- you'd be FINE with the Orange & the 2x12" OR the GK & 410 & while BOTH these amps'd be running at 1/2 power-(NOT 1/2 VOLUME- as volume depends on speaker area. Therefore -more speaker area-as in 4x10"s over 2x10"s = louder noise) Both amps 'd STILL be plenty loud. And IF you needed more volume- you could add another 8 ohm cab- same as the one you already had- for about 2 x the volume.

ok so i am a ... o.c.d about things i buy they have to match.... lol so without a question they have to be from the same company lol. so, would the oranges be good for the price and sound? thats what i am getting at. i need a great sounding cab/amp with high watts for gigs and practice... im tired of using the drummers P.A. system lol

I'd try reading the post/site in TB about Acoustic amps. I have most of the whole line and like it - but it's very subjective.

ok so is it easier to buy 2 300w cabs with 8ohm with 2x12? or just buy a 4ohm with 4x10?

What determines the Ohms is the drivers/speakers.

The amp MAY be able to go as low as 2,4, or 8 Ohms, but it's the drivers that are the 'resistance' if you will that finally gets you to the higher or highest capacity of the AMP.

It's somewhat confusing, but as the Ohms go down, the Watts go up - TO A POINT!
