Does anyone here use them? Anyone here want one? I just ordered a case with a built in rack for my Ampeg SVT CL. Very excited. This company is fantastic. Let's talk about the various things/tricks we use to protect our gear. |

It actually makes moving my rig easier, the wheels are rated for 1200 lbs total. I can load my rack, my basses, and my gig bag on it and roll everything in in one load. It does however add at least 100lbs to the weight of the Ampeg cab though!
Since this is TB....no pic no flight case, right? I don't have any shots of the case closed up....so you'll have to settle for a shot of it on stage.

from the bottom upwards
1x15 Ashdown MAG
2x10 Ashdown MAG
Trace Elliot GP7 head
Rack shelves for storage
in the front door I'll also be designing some contraption to hold my bass, so the whole box rolls with my entire setup...
It'll set me back a few notes, but i think it will be worth it
and yes, when it's been built, pics shall be avaliable!

There are quite a few good builders scattered throughout the US and Canada. I would try to find one in your region, or shipping could become outrageous.
A couple of companies that I can think of off the top of my head include: Mental Case, Clydesdale, Rock Hard Cases, MINE Audio, Dinosaur Case, & Case Technology Inc. I don't have experience with all these companies, but I have heard good things about them.

The guy who owns it is named ben, he's located in pocatello id and its a small business but that has been a huge plus for me since he has enough time to care about every case built. He was willing to hear exactly what I needed and even went so far as to throw in some black diamond plating on either side of the rack for some pizazz. I'm sponsored by the company so I got my case for $350 as opposed to $700 like most places. Email him for a quote. He will give you what you need |

is the slip cover enough to protect the cabinet against scratches and those abrasive contacts? the cabinet was sold new but does not have the slip cover, i want to know if i order it from mesa it will be enough or if should i go for more road ready protection
EDIT: sorry for deviating the topic a bit in my behalf |

I handle my cab personally 98% of the time and my band mates know to treat it like a lady if they get to it first! I've actually devised a pretty sweet case for my cab. I laid a blanket over my cab, then I took two or three big pieces of cardboard and laid them over each side. I bent/cut all the cardboard to fit perfectly then I used duct tape to wrap the entire thing. Slide the case off and remove the blanket, you have a big cardboard condom for your cab |

I'd like to get a slip cover for mine too. It would be nice to be able to fold it up and throw it in the trailer. |

I have a few friends that have slip covers for thier 8*10's, and they do a decent job of keeping the tolex pretty......but they won't give any protection if the cab slips out of someones grip, and falls out of the truck, or down a set of stairs.
Personally, if you are truley interested in protecting your investment get a flight case.
On a side note, I find my roadies are easier on my equipment than friends that try to help on the shows when we don't have crew!
