Hey guys,

Im officially panicking. I have a gig on Sunday and I need a 2 switch footswitch cable. I cant find any thing on the net believe it or not! I live in the UK. Does anyone know of a website that sells these cables?

Really urgent.

What exactly do you mean by footswitch cables?
Patch leads to go between pedals, or specific cables for an amp footswitch? If it's the second, what make of amp?

EDIT: I re-read, I see that you need "a 2 footswitch cable." I initially thought it just said "2 footswitch cables." i apologise.
Even so, now that I am guessing its for an amp, anything more specific?

Hmmm, looking around the Mesa website I can only see a few pictures. Your right though, can't see any manuals or anything along those lines.
What kind of input does the footswitch have on the back? Looking at the photo of the back of the amp it's just a 1/4 inch jack on that end, is that right?

It is a 1/4 jack, tried a regular jack to jack instrument cable but it only allows control of one of the switches - the OD.

Maybe what you'll need is a stereo 1/4 inch jack? I'm on the Maplins website looking now because I'm sure I read that they sell them in the catalogue. They definitely do stereo patch leads, but longer than that I'm not sure. Have a nose around for that!

I've got a foot switch for my amp too and I use a stereo 1/4 in cable. That'll do you just right. I bet an electronics store would have one. Or the UK equivalent to GC.

You want a stereo cable with 1/4 inch TRS jacks.

Pretty common. Also, don't buy from Maplin if you can avoid it, they are proper rip off merchants.

What makes you think that about Maplin? Had any bad experiences? Since I'm thinking of a few more purchases from there I'd be interested.

And I only gave it as an example because I knew I'd be able to find one on there having read the catalogue the other day. I'm know there'll be plenty better makes, but since its for a show coming up pretty soon for the OP he might not have time (if his local music businesses are anything like mine anyway) to get what he wants there, and a cheap electrical store will win.
Not that I'm speaking from personal experience here or anything...!

Fair point, suppose its swings and roundabouts, because some of the stuff seems cheap its probably 'cause the quality ain't really the greatest!
I'll see how long my Maplin's power supply lasts haha!

Even the lower quality gear, you can buy cheaper elsewhere tho

Just for future reference. I dare say, Maplin is the convenience store of electronics.

It is kind of irksome that I told you exactly what kind of cable to buy yesterday, but you decided to post a new thread in an "official panic", rather than just buy the cable.
