Merry Christmas

Leaving amp in car with overnight temps in high twenties
Is this a bad idea ( not asking about theft) for the tubes? I will play it tomorrow morning

Thanks

You should be fine, but be sure to really let it warm up completely to room temperature before plugging it into the outlet. I don't mean the skin of it, either. Leave it alone in a room until the insides are room temp. After that, plug it in, warm it up, and rock on.

Yup, should be fine as long as you let it completely warm up. I left mine out once and tried to play it before everything had acclimated and one of the tubes cracked.

The reverse is also true. Try not to bring a hot amp straight outside when the temp is frigid.

If the amp has been out in that cold as it warms up it will have condensation(water) Develope inside the amp. Just warming the amp to room temp could result in a dangerous situation unless the inside is perfectly dry when you apply power. Solution do not leave it outside where it can get that cold then you have no worries. If it already is that cold bring it inside several hours (4-6) before you plan on using it to be sure you are safe. Maybe have a small fan not the one in the head blowing through it to help it dry out. It does not take much water to cause an arc.

We don't have cold weather here in tropical Indonesia, so I'd like to ask:

Can ice build up inside an amp if left outside in frigid temperatures?

Solution , since I don't have that many hours
USE A MICRO AMP
I assume the micro streamliner is less sensitive to this
Because of relative tininess. It will reach normal temps in my car with heater on

No. Only as it hits warm air does water from the air condense on the cold surfaces just like on a cold glass of beer brought out into the warm air.

Up here in the Great White North, I have not had a problem with my V4-B as long as the chassis has reached room temperature for an hour and that's coming in from -30 celcius.

Btw the svt STAYED in the car during gig today
And I used Streamliner . I used the car heater on my drive to work and it warmed up both amps to a degree ( degree? ) but since Streamliner was so small with less tubes, I went with that.

Last night I used svt head with a gb 12 and it held great potential , besting the Streamliner through the same 12.

I'm going to start a streamliner vs svt thread unless there already is one???
If anyone knows. Post it here please
