Furman PL-8: Light modules blown. Prognosis?

Sign in to disble this ad
I dusted off my an old rack that's been stored for several months and plugged in my Furman to check if everything was kosher. When it comes on I hear a "pop" and then a puff of smoke from the left side of the unit. I turn it off and on again and hear a "pop" and then smoke from the right side.

The lights now do not work. I changed the bulbs even though the originals did not look blown. Still nothing.

I tried the circuit breaker with no results but I think I did something permanent to this hunk of garbage.

Any thoughts on what that might be?

When you bypass the Furman, does all the other rack gear still work?

Yes, but the Furman does work, just the lights don't work. I'm worried I could be risking my gear if I continue using it.
