Furman PL-Plus CE Power Conditioner Question

Sign in to disble this ad
Ok so I finally got myself one of these, after being hounded by a mate who's a tech head.
I installed it into my rack, which consists of :

Ampeg SVT 6 PRO
Sansamp RBI Rackmount
Korg DTR 1000 Tuner
Shure Wireless

- and at first, I was blown away, NO hum, NO buzz, and amazingly improved tone. I had it at our drummers studio, where we regularly rehearse, and it was about 2pm in the afternoon and no-one else was home besides our drummer, and he couldn't believe it.

BUT.

That night, when the whole band was in to practice, I fired up the rig, and whaddya know, the hums and buzzes were back, and the tone had returned to it's original sound (which is still great, but after hearing it earlier, I was somewhat disappointed).

I have no idea what happened or why, but it seems as though I spent all that money for a set of rack lights, and nothing more.
Whats more is, the last two gigs we played, the LED lights ALL flashed, and after consulting the manual, this is apparently caused by "marginally high input power". I thought 'fair enough, last two venues had crappy power', but when I brought the rig back home, those lights are still flashing.

I'm fairly stumped and hope I can find some help of suggestions here.

Also, I'm 99.9% sure I've got the rack gear hooked up correctly, but if anyone has the time I'd love to hear how you'd set that up.

Thanks guys.
Russ

I'd expect that there are a number of TB threads on Power Conditioners. Have you done a search?

When you and your drummer were alone there likely weren't any other sources of EMI powered up. When the rest of your band switched on their gear, there were.

More than a few of us keep saying that. Sorry you didn't get the message before making your purchase, but this is one of the top five recurring topics.
