I've had a G.K. 800 from almost their begining...and have always wondered.
What does the "800" number mean/come from?

Back in the day amps (of all kinds) were rated in RMS and "Peak" wattage. Can't remember if I read it or not, but the combined output of the 800RB amps are 400 RMS and 800 peak. 800 watt Rack mount Bass amp. 800RB

Cool to know haha!

...When I first saw the Flea video, and one of his 800rb's was sitting atop his Mesa/Boogie 2x15" cabinet - I knew what amp I wanted forever!
...Never had one though - I have a GK 700rb II. An amazing amp, but the sight of
it doesn't take me back like the 800rb.

Has anyine seen the movie 'Never Been Kissed?' watch the reggae club scene where Ozomatli play live.

Thanks GK!
