Comparing the 2x12 cabs, I see the power handling is 600w for either, so I'm wondering if the same drivers are used in both lines. The MBE 2x12 has slightly different dimensions but 20 lbs lighter than it's Neo counterpart.
Has anybody A/B'ed these two lines?

I think the drivers are different too, with the Neo series using G-K's "Paragon" drivers, which are not mentioned for the MBE series.
I currently have two Neo 112 cabs, but I'm interested in the MBE 212 to go with my new MB-500 head and save some weight. But I love the Neo 112 tone, and wouldn't want to sacrifice much, if any, in that department.

So how do the cabinets (Neo 212 vs. 212MBE) compare tonally, in the low through mid frequencies?

Both cabinets are made from light weight plywood. MBE cabinets are optimized for light weight, are a little smaller than the MBX cabs, use aluminum grills and match up well with the MB Combos. MBE cabinets use the same woofers as the comparable Neo cabinets, the MBX are our low power cabinets and use ceramic speakers. Basic build quality of all our cabinets is the same. The MBE cabinets sound just like the comparable MB combo; they are smaller than the Neo cabinets and therefore have a little bit smaller sound. The MBX cabinets are full size and have a full range sound, but have a lower power rating.

Due to health conditions, I've got to find the lightest cab with the biggest sound, and when the MB Fusion arrives, i'll sell the Markbass to get it.

| | | | You guys think Bob wakes up every morning and asks why he isn't selling boat loads of these cabinets yet?
Sounds like an incredible cabinet at a very low price and I'm anxiously awaiting their arrival! | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
