G-K MB FUSION MANUAL? & Everybody Happy?

Sign in to disble this ad
Anybody got a manual you can post up here. It's not on G-K's website yet.

Mainly interested in how the Gain A/Gain B works with Master A/Master B. Are they two discrete channels selectable with a footswitch? If so, are there other functions on the footswitch, and is it supplied with the amp?

Also, so far I haven't seen any complaints about possible early inherent problems, (as with the MB2 500) so I take it everybody loves it?

Oh, and is the DI adjustable in any way?

There's more music in the nuance than the notes.

Just the gains. The EQ is common, and the footswitch is only one button for A/B "channel" switching.

Yep, so far so good. This is a next generation product that is built with lessons learned from the previous line. I've beat the crap out of mine at gigs already and it's been great so far.

Only pre/post and ground lift. No level control, but I've also never needed it.

Thanks Vic;
According to the manual, there are two contour controls, one on front and one on top. Curious as to how that works.
Also, there's mention made of a boost control, but I don't see it in the picture.

I believe the top contour switch changes the center point frequency that the contour knob impacts. Not sure if this is correct (the manual is very poorly written IMO).

Yes it is, but I'm a gonna get me one and figure it out then.
Then the LMTube 800 will go on the block.

I looked at the block diagram and specs at the end of the manual... very nice info. I was correct.. the switch varies the mid cut center freq on the variable contour from 500hz to 800hz. My guess is, it changes the Q a bit also... probably more narrow at 800hz and wider at 500. Nice.

Based on my experience with the MB500, this head will sound WAY different than the Marbass LM line of amps. Not my thing, but they are impressively loud, and very aggressive.... much more sizzle up top, and a way deeper bass response. More like a super aggressive TecAmp Puma.... which is not a bad thing if you like your tone a bit goosed and raw.

+1

Well put.

Totally different animals. People who feel the Markbass stuff sounds a bit "narrow" will love the GK stuff. Folks who feel the GK stuff is too big and wide sounding will love the Markbass stuff. Perfectly complimentary products.
