so, for the next x-mas I was thinking to treat me with a tiny head that will go with my next self built 2x6" ported minicab. After examining the possible candidates, the choice seems more and more natural: MB200! Looking at Q/P and dimensions it seem just right for what I need. Also considering the gig bag pocket fitting as "safety backup head" there is no chance for the competitors.
But the more I search and browse here and there the more it seems evident that this head gives problems: DI output issues or other faults.
Is it a wrong impression that I have? Or this piece of gear has actually reliability problems? Any first hand thoughts and experiencies?

It had an electrical hum that was perceptible with or without a tweeter so I returned it. The replacement within a few weeks got to where it would not turn on, but you could tap the side and it would. I assume that was from the first production as well.
I called GK both times and dealt with Brian Clark. Before sending me the third one he said that he would personally check out everything on the amp to make sure it was a winner.
I have had my current unit for about 8 months and it has been fantastic. Yes, I went through some hassle, but for the cost (I got mine for $200 new) and the size/weight AND the performance, it was worth every bit of the hassle. GK took care of me and I appreciate them for that. I also believe that unless you get a used one, the initial bugs ought to be worked out of current stuff.
I would say go for it. |

I didn't know what the US service was like before I bought my MB200 - I was impressed and hopefully it is that way in the EU. |

The assistance in Itay should be good as well as in the States. Fact is that I surely don't want to go thru a mess with a non reliable gear in the first place. But I think I will go for it next month or so.
P.S.: what about the DI output hiss, hum or whatever when signal is sent to the consolle? Did you spot any of those? Thanks again, V.

Never any problems. I haven't used the DI much but never noticed any noise when I did. I've had it for over a year. Love it.
