Hellov,

I have GK 700RB amp and 210RBS GK box,...the problem is that box is 200W on 8ohm and amp is 220W. There is volume button and 10 lines around him (like 10 rates, just like that:
http://www.istockphoto.com/file_thum...-amplifier.jpg
, except this has 6 and mine has 10)...well i can only play on 3 lines (and it's not even a half of power of amp) and if i play on B string the membranes are already jumping, on 5 (a half of power) the membranes are jumping like hell, so i can't play on half of power of amp...what do you think?

Sorry for my bad english, but i hope you'll understand what the problem is.
Thank you.

Greetings

A volume control is not a power limiter (or a power determinant). This misconception seems to show up at least once a week around here. This is why the volume control is labeled Volume, and why its scale is always arbitrary.

You are probably overpowering your speakers, and you may have a problem with subsonics as well. There are many ways to deal with subsonics -- from filters to tone settings to the way you play the instrument. I know there's been lots of discussion on this board about it.

Your English is fine. But we call the vibrating part of a speaker a cone, not a membrane.

Hope this helps.

Set the 4/5 string mode switch to 4 strings to take out the lowest frequencies. It should clean right up. The 700RB is a powerful amp but if you keep an ear out and back off the volume or bass when you hear your cabinet fart, you should be OK.

It may well be you're asking a 2x10 to produce the volume of a 4x10. Easiest solution, add another identical 2x10 to your rig.
