I've seen more and more bass players here in the Bay Area SF using the new MB and MBFusion amps, cool!

I have a Fusion 550 on the way. Would the GK 2x112 Neo stack work well with this head also?
Thanks P-P

I generally use the Fusion a bit more, but I do play the 800 a lot too.

I just took the MB800 back and got the MB500 again. It'll be more than enough amp for what I'm doing, and I know that it sounds good.

They also had a used 700 RB-II that I was contemplating grabbing at the same time.

2x112 most of the time. A few times I've done the 2x115. Honestly, I have only used the 212 once, and might even consider selling it. It's also got the brand new padded cover on it too.

Here's a weird experience. Over the weekend I decided to bump some tunes through my rig just for grins. iPhone > mixer (EQd flat) > MB500 > Neo 212 + 410MBX.

I put the 212 horn on zero, neither cut nor boost. Then I listened to some music at moderate volume and tried to EQ it. I ended up with highs down to around 10 o'clock, high mids at 9, low mids around 3 and lows at 2.

Sounded great. Later on when I plugged my bass in, it sounded...not that bad. I ended up bumping the high mids up and the lows down a bit, but it sounded great--at low volumes. Very smooth and mellow.

I just ordered an MB500 in preparation for my band finally playing out. Hoping the purchase will kick the universe into making it happen sooner than later. Can't wait to hear it! This will join my MB150S/112 (rehearsal space) and Backline 110 combo (home).

Are the newer ones all made in the USA?

Hmm, reminds me to purchase a looper as I could start a loop and change the sound at the venue and step back for a listening to see how it sounds like...

In. My 400RB is going for a trip to Yorkville Sound in Ontario soon, and when it returns I should truly be able to consider myself a club member. Here's hoping that all goes well!!

I love my MB500, but keep toying with the idea of a MBFusion or MB800 for some variety.
