I gotta say, though... there's something awesome about toting the bag with my amp in it around my neck while the bass is in one hand and the pedal board in the other!

Yeah, like I said, some of the comments you made after I posted that kinda' changed my mind on it anyway, so it's all good.

I'd like a number please. Pictured is my GK MB200 on top of a Seismic 210. Great little rig.

412's is a nice thing, and doesn't "have to be mega loud" to be useful.
All that cone area delivers a big full sound.

Personally, I have zero need to the 2001.
The 1001 is already more power than I need, and a much nicer size and weight, for me.

The 2001 is overkill, I can only use 1/2 the head and still can`t turn it up past 1/2 way, but I like the overdrive channel built in and it has all the power you will ever need. So far very pleased with all the different tones I can get with this head with low or high volume.

That's sound enough reasoning....I don't need that feature set, so, lucky me I guess

Yup. Sorry to hear there was a problem... pretty unusual, actually, but good to know it's figured out at least.

I did a 'search thread' in the classifieds for Fusion 550's and came across a guy selling a non-working Fusion 550. I'll copy and paste what he said was wrong with it in his sale thread :

"GK Fusion 550, was working like a champ until the input started crackling, then went out and I am not getting sound. It has been just sitting so I figured I'd get a little out of it and pass it along to someone who cares to give it a look. I took the lid off to show theres no obvious signs of shorts, scorches, or liquid."

I wonder if there is an inherent problem with these heads or if the problem is caused by bad tubes. I didn't have mine long enough to find out. I wish I had some extra tubes laying around so I could have swapped them out , but I live over 1 1/2 hours (one way) from the nearest decent music store. Man that head sounded sweet when it wasn't crackling. I'm kinda gun-shy from trying another one since I'm so far in the boonies and I need a reliable amp.

Could be another case of a bad tube.

Would that cause the sound to cut out completely?? I'm not too knowledgeable about tubes and what problems 'bad tubes' can cause.
