You can "approximate this" by turning the MBF's deep and bright switches on...;^)

| | | | I'm heading to the music shoppe to get them to look at my MB500 foot switch. Any other ideas why it wouldn't be working other than a faulty patch cable?
PS: The "contour" knob on my MB500 is beautiful! So useful.

| | | | I'm in- picked up the 400MB last night. Now, I need to get the speakers dialed in. Used one Altec 417B the first time and need to make an adapter for the Ampeg cabinet so I can mount both of them to make a 4 Ohm load. The adapter is so I can front-load them but the back of the flange isn't a smooth transition, like most speakers (especially stamped-frame). |

I hear that they're similar in sound to GK's 400RB. Will a Backline rig sound close enough to my GK 700RBII and Neo 410 to warrant about $250? It'll be a BL410 cab and BL600 head. I'll be getting rid of my old Ampeg combo, I've been wanting to get all GK stuff since I got my main rig from Chef, and it'll make it much easier to have my main and practice rigs sounding similar, since I like to play around with settings and effects etc. at home, and can't always get them to sound how I liked after the transfer from Ampeg to GK.
I could also get either a Backline 112 or 115 combo for about 170ish, but was thinking the speaker size and number would be so far off as to make comparison and adjustments hard. My current Ampeg practice amp is a 15 inch speaker, and it sounds good, but definitely a different voice than my 410, and I have to adjust accordingly.
