Odd MBFusion 500 story, I took it out last night for a keyboard gig, hooked it into a 2x10 8ohm Avatar bass cab and then to my keyboard gig, eq:ed down the lows so I would not compete with the bass player. Hey, worked fine, even tested it by having an other keyboard player play and I went downstage to hear the levels. Was going to pipe the Fusion into the PA but the sound board guy said no need for that.

...was going to get a QSC K10 or something similar for keyboard playing but I doubt I need it just now!

maybe this is a tad greedy on my part but do you guys think the price on the neo 112 iis will ever go down. I want to pick up a pair for $400 soon as a modular rig. I love my mbe 212 but the neos would allow me to use all 500 watts of my mbfusion @ 4ohms

I seriously doubt it. All amp and cab production is being done by US hands now and G-K is already getting a good cost on NEO as the speakers are about the only thing the China G-K plant is making now. If they close the G-K China plant completely the cost will go up I am pretty sure.

Been trying to get a tone similar to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRSc94rBEpY

Or this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yNdBIpzz7Rg

I think they're pretty similar, but by all means correct me if I'm wrong.

Any suggestions? I've got a 700RB and a Neo 410. Some people have told me to cut the mids, others say keep them, but regardless I figure you guys would be the go to guys for my rig. I also have some pedals, mostly Digitech if some sort of effect is needed. They are Bad Monkey, Bass Squeeze (compressor), Bass Driver, Flange, Delay and Synth. Also a GK Diesel Dawg. So, any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I also realize that many people may not be too fond of heavy metal bass tone, and rest assured, I typically don't use one similar to it. Just been recording with the guys and am trying different EQs for the mix. Thanks again.

A pair?
For $400?

I don't think that's happening.

I love a good heavy metal tone. the key, IMO is boosting the treble and adding grit. I would say start by cutting mids from the amp. using either the bass driver or bad monkey to add grit. when doing so add treble from the pedal. and depending on your preference, add the comp after to subtlely smooth things out. although the bass driver is an amazing pedal, i personally would start off with the bad monkey because it doesnt cut through much, when i think of the bassdriver, i think Rage against the Machine. on my own rig, i use a comp with a bass muff. Think cliff burton.

So if taxes shake out like I think they're going to, I'm going to do the unthinkable:

buy a mismatched cab to go along with my Neo 212.

Right now I'm set on the Neo 115-III.

I'm well aware of the caveats, pitfalls and dangers. I'm not a denialist. I often counsel people not to mismatch. But I think I'm going to do it anyway in this case.

Yeah, I've been partial to the Monkey lately as well, especially since it's modded. Hadn't thought of cutting mids at the amp AND boosting treble on the pedal or moving my comp. Good ideas! I'll give them a go and see how it works!

That was Norm Stockton's cab pairing choice after he and EBS parted ways.

Well, I like the sound of the cabs individually. And mostly I'll be using them that way: just one or the other. And I want one small rig (the 15) and one medium rig (the 212) and one large rig (both). Obviously I'll not try to push the 15 too hard when using both. Otherwise I think I'll be ok.

Ladies and gentlebassists,

Tomorrow is the day i get my second hand GK backline 600 and GK BLX 410 Cab for 175 Euros or 233.54 Dollars for the lot. that is amazing.

knowing myself i will probably be modding the Cab with eminence Legend bp102's
do not know what impedance i am going to get. And maybe a tweeter if i feel like it.

I am however going to pair my GK Backline 600 with an Art TubePac pre amp which has a great compressor limiter imo. and the 2 tubes will probably sound awesome through the GK amp

http://www.marktplaats.nl/a/muziek-e...-backline.html

Can i have my Nr please?

I have ALWAYS wanted a 410 and 115 stack. If you get one, post your results here, especially if they're both Neo cabs. I'm greedy, and that's what I've got! . I've been dissuaded to mix/match cabs here repeatedly, but am still craving it if I get a chance.
