I hang the grill by a coat hanger or something outside on a non-windy day and...just go for it. Sound about right? Maybe look for missed spots after it's dried and do pickups...then when fully dry, put 'er back on.

Though it did take 2 cans as mentioned before but I was able to get good coverage on both sides (Back sides I just have minimum paint) without needing any touch up.

I have a 700rbII that I bought used and I'm new to these heads. is there any reason the fan should not be running when powered on? Does it only kick on when needed? Thanks for the help. |

Thanks for the help. | Yes it will only come on when needed and is variable speed so will not run at full speed unless the amp gets REALLY hot.

Thanks B-string! I have it hooked up to a single Ampeg pf115lf for now. I'm liking it so far but want to run two 15's. Any way to tell the age of the head by serial number or any other way? |

Does anyone use a rackmount compressor/limiter with their RB series? If so what works for you? I'm thinking that because of my tuning and my Spector's cr@ppy midrange sweep that I need to run some form of comp. (perhaps with a limiter as well if possible) to balance my string tone. I've tried a footswitchable Dynacomp clone but it didn't really do what I needed it to.
Anyone have any recommendations of something that voices well for an RB?
I'm using a 1001ii incidentally.

I'm using a 1001ii incidentally. | Let me just say that I am a Spector Endorser. I would lean more towards your strings, I have noticed that if my strings are too light a gauge my tone is not even across all 4 strings. I down tune to Drop C#.
I use an EBS multicomp live. Although it is not a rack mount effect, it is very nice and very simple to use.

I've fiddled with Custom gauges but I do like a certain degree of snap in my higher strings and the few heavier gauges I've tried had too much thud. I've only got a Custom Legend so it's not running one of the more impressive Spector preamps.
I'm going to look into the EBS. Thanks.
