NONE of the MBs biamp... this is not specific to the MB Fusion... just in case anyone might be wondering (I know Chef already knows this).
To "turn the horn off", ironically, what you want to do is set the cab to "biamp" mode, because that effectively bypasses the crossover and sends everything you give it to the woofers. If you simply "turn the horn off" by turning the attenuator down all the way, the crossover is still involved, and you won't get optimal sound.
FYI. |

So after reading a bunch of posts on the master volume(woofer) full up and volume (input gain) to taste I gave it a try on my 400RBIV. All I can say is wow!!! It just sounds sooo much fuller. I really can't describe it. I've always liked the tone I was getting but this is great. Girthenhoggen.
Take Care,
Brent

Pedulla- From what I've seen the fusion 550 is more rare than the rb and mb amps around here. It may take some patience or effort (reading back/search) to find some setting suggestions based on real experience with that amp. Sounds like you'll have a pretty sweet rig. | Thanks man - I'm hoping so! I'll find out this weekend when I have some time to fiddle with it. The other Neo112-II cab arrived today.
Thanks to everyone for your input to my question. It is very much appreciated!!

GK 700RBII
GK NEO1X15III
Just wanted to note how my GK is the first amp I ever really got into, sound-wise. Prior to sort of rediscovering GK, my amps never got too much thought and I spent most of my time with them bypassing the pre-amps with Tech21 gear anyway (SWR 750, SWR 350x, Ampeg SVT3, Hartke HA3500) because I could never achieve the warm, gritty, cutting sound that I favored and could get instantaneously with the Tech21 stuff. I had an epiphany after seeing the Avett Brothers live at Mountain Jam a few years ago. Their bassist was using 1001RB's and RBH cabs with a passive Fender Precision. Suddenly, I linked what I was hearing to the sort of tone Flea gets (that pleasingly flatulent, burpish sizzle is the only way I can describe it), but with a passive Fender P and realized at that point that GK had a sound. This thought was compounded by the fact that I was achieving a similar tonal bliss on a borrowed 700RB and 4 RBH 10's at the time. There seemed to be a point halfway through rehearsals where the amp would start to hit that sizzling, burpy sweetspot, as if the amp had warmed up to that point, somehow. I never knew this was possible with a solidstate amp. Since then, I have replaced my stuff (save for a S.O.B. cab) with RB and Neo series GK and I'm not looking back. Never played an amp that could do the things my 700RBII can and with so much versatility (like adding pre-amps while still being able to have the best featues such as BOOST and BI-AMP). Sorry for carrying on, just thought I'd share.

Anyone have any advice on my new set-up? Example : Freq select switch (500 or 800Hz?) , contour , bright and deep boosts , EQ , Horn Bi-Amp , Gain / master volume , and Bi-Amp (or not to Bi-Amp)??
I play a Pedulla Thunderbass and my band plays everything from Elvis / Neil Diamond all the way to Ozzy/Black Sabbath , Alice In Chains , and Pearl Jam (and everything in between). We play quite a variety.
I realize that everybody has different tastes on how they like to set their bass sound. I'm just looking for a little advice from veteran GK users to give me a good starting point to find 'My sound'. I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks ,
Craig (P-P) | First you will find it the loudest 500 watt amp you have ever played. With the NEO212 or NEO 412 I have the gain kind of low at 10:00 to 11:00 and still have the master (woofer) barely on. Tweeter between 10:30 and 1:00 depending on how old my strings are (Swing Bass 66's) or if a pick is used.
Contour at 9:00 to 3:00 depending on the sound I am going for (3:00 for old school scooped). Frequency depends on the room, switch between and find the best match to the room.
I have used the Deep on occasion but not very often, Bright I usually have on.
The 4 "band" fine tunes the room to "my" sound. Usually slight treble boost, high mids also boosted between 1:00 to 2:30, low mids again depends on the room this one can make it over-powering or thin, Bass usually 10:30 to 1:30 again depends on the room or the voice I want.
I have "Channel 1" set for the most used preset and "Channel 2" (not actually separate channels, just presets) set for reggae voice.
You really have to experiment with all the controls to find out what they will do for "your" sound. There is a huge pallet to choose from

Sorry the photo is dark , but the room doesn't have much light at night. I'll post a better pic soon. Only one complaint and I haven't plugged it in yet. When stacked vertically the rear feet of the Fusion 550 don't fit on the cab. The front feet fit , but the rear feet are spaced further apart. I have a piece of foam padding under the amp to keep it stable for now. I'll need to come up with something better thou for gigging. Any suggestions??
Here is the photo.
Can I get a club #?
Thanks!

Thanks! | ... I dont have my 400RB racked, and the feet were too wide for the 2x210 stack as well, so I checked the body and there were two chassis mounting screws in closer, I simply moved the feet in so that it sat square on the cab ... I used a piece of foam between them one time, and at the end of the night, the foam pad AND the bottom of the head case were both very warm to the touch ... that was the last time for that, the feet got moved in ... just something to be aware of |

Thanks! | #923 - Pedulla-Player
I would get / make two extra "feet" and just "stick" them where they need to be. But that's just me.

After I had back surgery (from improperly lifting mu Uber 410) I've been searching for a lightweight solution to getting a cab closer to my head level so I can hear myself better again. I was hoping to go vertical with these cabs to get a cab closer to head level like I was used to in the past. I will try the horizontal stacking this weekend to see how it goes on how well I can hear myself. Problem is - the hearing myself problem only happens on stage. I will check out to see if there are additional holes to move the feet over. Thanks again for all of the help and suggestions.

10.75˝ x 12.25˝ x 1.75˝ Fusion 800
10.75" x 8.5" x 1.75" fusion 500
Not that big of a difference but the IGig bag will have a little trouble with the 800.
I got the TC15AF ( Thanks Chef) . Never thought I would play with 15's. But this cab is very unusual. I just think the Fusion 500 will be a good match. I wanted a little modern and some vintage. With a A and a B channel how can you go wrong. What I heard on line and again chefs recommendation, made me say this should be it. I also thank you guys on this thread with the help as it looks like GK has some good company. My first GK amp. But it will be hard not to play my Thunderfunk when I can. Weird some say they are similar. But I ordered today and like all who order new stuff there's nothing like it.

You can put it on the floor on its side, or put it on top and at least it'll be level. I used to have a big rack setup that hung out over the edge of my vertical array cabs and it was fine.
