Gallien Kruager RBH Cab questions

Sign in to disble this ad
What is the difference between the Gallien Krueger NEO cabs and the RBH series cabs besides the speaker magnet and weight reduction? Do the RBH cabinets sound different. WOuld you say the RBH are better cabs, and better speakers in them? Ive noticed the RBH series cost a quite a bit more. Any info greatly appreciated.

I had a 115RBH for a while and it is a great cab. I got rid of mine in my "got to try new stuff" stage and still miss it. Its very well balanced acoustically and matches nicely with GK heads. The only downside, IMO, is that it is dimensionally challenged ! Can't comment on the GK Neo stuff as I have not played thru them....

Neo magnets do not have as much inherent distortion as the magnets in the RBH cabs. They are a bit cleaner. But some people like the grind of the RBHs, look at Duff. The RBH speakers were designed by GK and are made by Eminence I believe whereas the neos are designed and made by GK. The RBH cabs are louder than the neos in the sense that a 410 RBH has a higher sensitivity rating than a 410 neo...but the neos are still pretty dang loud I have been dying to get my hands on one of the RBH cabs but they just don't come up used as often as I'd like. I have a neo 412 and love it.
