| | | | sadly not, i actually saw them for sale on rmc audio direct for 300 bucks and thought it was a miracle but the page then disappeared. Gk just came out with a series of powered speakers so its quite possible they will also release a new pre amp.

I found the 300 at RMC as well, and was hoping to keep that a secret until I could save up the cash.
Please, guys, save me one.

I've been through two of them and opted to not try a third. If you don't need the fuzz channel, you may be better of saving up for a powered version like the 700RBII.
Basic problem description: Each one worked for a about two weeks. Eventually, no sound from any output. I played with all the gains and tone knobs and couldn't get the input to clip so I gather the problem is at the front end. In each case, I took it out of the rack and something was rattling inside. This was studio use only as a front end and a re-amp scenario. I will say the GK and RMC have been good to work with.
I too hope they release another preamp. The MB Fusion in a preamp only mode would be right up my alley. Maybe Mr. Gallien will read this and make it happen!

| | Hey, what does this knob do? | | Join Date: Sep 2008 Location: New Hampshire | | | I think it would be crazy of them not to release a new preamp, or not to get the 2001RBP's reliability sorted out, in light of those new powered cabs. All I'd ask is that if they do take the latter course, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE "revision" the unit to Revision+1, or change the model to something like 2001RBP-II or 2001RBP-A2. Otherwise you have this "BX500 Syndrome" where you've got all this product floating around on the used market but you really can't tell what's under the skin because there's no outward-facing revision control. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
