Gallien Krueger 700RB II cooling fan not always on?

Sign in to disble this ad
Today the fan on my GK 700RB II turned off when playing for a few minutes. The weather's not too warm today, so I'm wondering, does GK have some sort of heat sensitivity and it only turns on when the amp gets warm? The last couple of weeks I pretty much remember the fan always being on (during warmer weather). I guess the amp warms up faster when the surrounding is either warm or cold.

I tried testing this, to check if my fan was still working. So I turned the amp off and on again, and left it working for a few minutes. After a few minutes, the fan was on again.

So, do they have some sort of heat sensitivity? Or should I be worried about faulty fan? Should they be on at all times?

Aaah great, that's a relief because I have a gig today and wouldn't want my GK to overheat and die on me. Thanks!

Yeah, my 700's amp doesn't come on all that often - those amps usually run pretty cool...
