Gallien Krueger BP-250/ Accustic B810 impedence mismatch

My son just bought an Accustic B810 (4ohms) cabinet to go with his GK BP250 (8ohms). After he got home he realized that they were not the same impedence. Is there a way to change the GK head to 4ohms?

Sorry SS amps are not designed that way. The minimum load spec'ed is the load the output is designed to handle. If you try to run a heavier load (4 ohm on an 8 ohm circuit) the output devices will overheat and or power supply will fail. SS designs are directly coupled to the speaker load.

The G.C. Acoustic is not really a very good 810 to start with. He probably got a very good deal on it (for good reasons). The G-K is good pro stuff but pretty old and limited in it's use by today's standards.
If he really wants to keep the cab you can find good deals an G-K Backline 600's used if you like G-K (I do), otherwise deals are out there all the time on the house brand Acoustic like the B200, B600?
