Long story short my old acoustic 260's head burst aflame, now i got the money back for it from guitar center (it was used so they wouldnt give me a new one) i bought a used Peavey headliner 210 cab and i am struck between the GK MB200 or the acoustic B200H http://bass-guitars.musiciansfriend....ead?sku=423658
Versus http://bass-guitars.musiciansfriend....ead?sku=482904
I liked the Acoustic stack so im leanin towards that head but i was wondered if the GK is really that good even in there economical preamps |

Tons of manufacturing leverage...solid electrical design and excellent reliability. Im not critiquing Acoustic as much as I'm sold on GK's performance.

I've even used it live with my Bergantino NV610 with pretty killer results. Sometimes I'll bring it to work with me and I'll learn tunes on my lunch break. I just run my iPod in with an 1/8" cable, hook up my head phones and bass, then I'm ready to rock. It fits right in my gig bag.

| | Hey, what does this knob do? | | Join Date: Sep 2008 Location: New Hampshire | | | Much of your decision should hang on which amp's tone you prefer. I haven't heard the Acoustic, but I can say from experience that the MB200 sounds very thick and heavy, but without "feeling slow," if that makes any sense.
I'm not sure about this but I think the GK comes with a better warranty, though your vendor may offer an extended option on the Acoustic.
Form-factor-wise, the GK has it all over the Acoustic.
Appearance-wise, never mind that. How often are you going to be actually looking at the rig versus listening to it?
That 260 actually started on fire?!? Yikes. |

Old acoustic is nothing like the new acoustic, sadly.

Yeah appearance wasn't a big deal just a very meh EQ kinda made me wonder if it was hard to sculp different tones, from what i heard from the NAMM video it does have a wonderful tone.
And the catching on fire story was pretty ridiculus, my entire band was tripping out and laughing there asses off afterwards |
