I cancelled my pre-order for the MB Fusion 800 and purchased the MB800 today to go along with my 412 Neo. It shipped today and I should have it by Friday.

You won't be mad about that decision...you just wait!

Has anyone used the Line Out from their MB800 to drive a power amp?

Wondering if anyone has experience with that.

Sometimes I need alot of power at 8 ohms. My QSC 2402 can do 1500w.

And what cab are you going to need 1500 watts into? You playing a stadium?

No doubt the effects out or line out would work well.

Well, I can get 1500w at 8 ohms, doesn't mean I actually "need" it.

From time to time I play in a situation where I much prefer a one trip load in. For example, playing outdoor car shows or festivals or playing downtown where I might have to walk quite a few blocks. I bring my power amp and 15/6 and I know I am prepared.

I've driven the power stage of other heads (Genz Streamliner 900 and Shuttle 9.0, G-K MB500, Peavey Tour 700). Ample drive to push them all to the limiter, without extreme settings. Not sure what that means in terms of driving a pro power amp.

Unlike other micros I've seen tested, the MB800 puts out well in excess of the factory rating (30% over at 4 ohms). The voicing is wider than the Genz micros, and can carry a lot of low end information if you let it.

Even if "all" it puts out is a true 500 watts into 8 ohms before it hits the limiter, that's a heck of a lot of real-world power. If your 15/6 isn't enough at that level, I'd be looking to add a 15 sub, rather than trying to drive it with 1500 watts. The 3015 is a great driver to be sure, but everything has its limits...

boy did i ever have a freak out today. when i turned on my amp, i got no sound. so i checked everything thoroughly and when i got to the speakon, joy set in. apparently the ground wire in the cable came loose. so i put it back in and voila! back to music. whew! i seriously thought i was going to have to call mf for an exchange. i was not looking forward to that. i dont think the gk speakon cables are very good. may have to buy some actual neutrik connectors.

I had a bad Monster Speakon recently. 3 minutes with a screwdriver to fix...

Question:
I recently puirchased the GK MB200. I love this little beast. What it can do, consistently boggles my mind and keeps me in awe. The punch it delivers just makes my Eden WT head sound, well, tired and bland.

I've owned a 800RB for many years, and it sounded nothing like the MB200.

Is it fair to say that the MB800 will have the same/close sonic signature as its 200 watt sibling?

Random note: I can now get my MB800 to sound a lot like my 800RB with Fdeck's HPF rolled off at about 100 Hz in front of the amp. I can not, however, get the 800RB to sound like the MB800.

The 800RB always sound fine, but my MB200 blows my mind. I think it's time to swap out my main amp for some MB800 goodness.

This doesn't surprise me, at all.
The MB800 feels like it has lots of unfiltered low end that the RB doesn't.

My RB 800: Compressed sounding, and kind of cold in tone.

My Eden: Still somewhat compressed, but warmer.

My MB200: Beastly, with tons of punch to give.

Simply amazed that this little $200 amp is punking my $$$ Eden
