Gallien Krueger Neo 210 as a standalone?

I have tried searching the forums but have not yet found any information regarding the above question. I have an opportunity to pick-up a minty GK Neo 210 but I am wondering how well it would fill the role of a stand alone for a little basement noodling... mostly by myself but also with friends (drum and a couple of guitars). I would be using it for a variety of music... blues, jazz but most rock (a lot of classic selections ranging from Rush to Metallica). Does this cab handle the low B of a five string well? Is it fairly articulate? Looking for opinions of those who have used this cab.

I have two of them. Never played out with just one (used Acme LoB 210 before - handled low B excellently). Just noodling in my living room it sounds like at a decent volume it would handle a low B well. Live both cabs kill with low-end. Low B no problem. I would take a chance on it.

I use mine as a single cab quite a bit in smaller clubs, no PA support. It does just fine when I set it up in a chair to get it closer to ear level. I play 4 string but believe it would work with a 5.

all cabs can be used standalone in the right venue/band/etc...

I think a 210 can play a ton of situations in the hands of a player who can keep an ear out for when he's pushing a cab too hard and knows how to eq a bass to sound good without throwing huge lows at a cab.

signed, Standalone

These types of questions come up a lot here on TB, and are very difficult to answer, because the number of watts or speakers one needs is so situationally dependant. I have played in bands where I needed an SVT and 810 to be comfortable, while in another, just recently in fact, I played a gig with a 50 Watt 112 combo.

Can a 210 stand alone cab get the job done? In certain situations, yes. Are you going to be playing Metallica at the volume level one would normally associate with heavy metal? In that case, the 210 might not be enough.

I saw the ad on Kijiji, looks like a great deal. I would've already picked it up if I needed it, but I don't.

Go try it out with your head, and see what you think?
