Getting to together with a few old band mates and a new guitarist tonight. It will be my first time using the 800RB/Neo 212. Last band I played bass in I used a Ashdown Mag300 and SWR 410. I also strung my Fender Jazz Special with some DR Lo riders. I used Boomers for years, last years switched to Roto 66s. I like th eRotos but they go away to fast.

Im extremely happy with the tone from the 800RB.Neo 212 combo. Just the right amount of grit, More then enough power and cut through the guitar just right. I had the eq set pretty much all at 12 o'clock, with the treble rolled back to about 10 oclock and the low mids boosted a bit. all the voicing filter outs.

The new set of DR strings gave me a nasty blister though LOL

love it!

I had a battle with my guitarist tonight.. he said "I'm not feeling the Low end" I told him I had it eq'd so it wouldn't over whelm our practice room.... I boosted the bass a little bit.... after the next song he says... "I think your bass is to loud" Me and the Drummer had a good laugh! o ya and now i'm running 2 410mbe cabs and a 700rb-ii

I've been running my neo 212 with my 800rb for a blues combo. It's a wickedly good sounding rig!

Played a Neo 410 with a 1001 RB today. It was fantastic how do the 212 and 115 cabs stack up volume and tone wise?

Reminder, it takes some break-in before the full bass response opens up with that cab. May sound a little "middy" until then. I presume it has something to do with GK's own Neo speaker design they use in the Neo cabs.

The cab should come with the 4 conductor speakon cable that gives you the bi-amp operation.

Enjoy and report back your experience.

You know, I've played a lot of gear, but if I had to stick to only one brand, and GK were that brand, I would not be at all sad about it. I honestly feel that their products are competitive with the best in the industry, across the board. They juts happen to cost a lot less. What's not to love?
