Saved $104 on the cab | oh yeah. it sounds so awesome. i have the gain on 6 and the master was on 1 in my house and it was getting loud already. cant wait to get out in a jam session someday when i find some people to jam with. lol i got the 8 ohm cab in case i want to add on later on down the road. and at 500 gk watts, this thing i know will be plenty for now and i got 15% off. i saved $200

Of course for smaller gigs or practice i just use one cab. Playing my Yamaha BB basses through these is 80's heaven |

That little sucker it loud! Not that my band is that loud IMO, but the master was barely at 9:00. I guess that's the story with most GK heads though. It's just funny to look back at my other band where I was cranking a 2001RB into an 810 just to keep up with the guitars.
Overall, I was really happy with the tone. I was using the boost channel for my J bass to get a little extra grit going on. In the mix it sounded great. I'm definitely going to continue to use it, although I may just return it and upgrade to the MB800 because I can.
I think I like my 800RB "better" tone wise, but that might just be in my head. For the weight and size reduction I can get with the MB500/800 I'm totally happy with it, plus I don't have to bring out by beloved 800RB to all of my gigs. When we start recording again, hopefully sooner than later, I'll probably do a little ABing just to see which one I really like better.

Then I asked to try the MB Fusion. Tonally, I liked it MORE.

The MB and RB are different sounding things; so I can see where you'd have a preference.
As long as I'm using the GK Neo biamp cabs with the RB; I can make them sound similar enough that I'm happy with either.
I think if you're a big fan of "GK growl," the RB do that better.
I think if you're a fan of that "quick, wide, clean hard hitting" thing; the MB do that better.
I think, personally, I prefer the middle ground that the MBFusion/Fusion hold, in the GK palette...still, that RB biamp thing is kewl though.

Nice guy, though. And he could play. I stomped on the Soucre Audio envelope filter while he slapped what looked like a Schecter C-4 custom--nice.
Anyway, he said he was ditching his combo amp and getting a modular rig. I strongly encouraged him to become a member here. (He'd been here before.)
He seemed into my GK rig. Might show up in here, I'm thinking...

The problem is based on three issues:
1. does the knob caps for GK 800RB available on the GK website shop will match the knobs from 1996 GK 800RB (the website shop says 1999-present)?,
2. does 6,5" carrying handle will fit 800RB?
3. I need help from you Tbers because local (in Poland) dealer don't want to help, they don't have spare parts and told me that my order is to small for beeing profitable for them (they just don't give a s***). Also closest dealer - in Germany - Thomann also doesn't have those parts...
Maybe someone from our Club can help me? pease PM me...
P.S I've send email to Brian from GK but still no answer...

I don't want to touch any other cab heavier than this. And as much as I love it, I have reservations about getting a second one! I start thinking, maybe I could go with a pair of Neo 115... or a really good pair of 12s... I've seen guys rock the rafters with a pair of Aguilar 12s. And if I could score fEARful 12/6 units... yeah, I'd go with 12s.

I absolutely love the sound of it when it's working, but I just can't trust it enough to attempt using it at gigs, and even at practice it gets so crackly that I just can't use it. I made a thread recently, so the whole story is here if you wouldn't mind checking it out and seeing if you can offer some advice: Amp experts, am I out of luck? (just got amp back from repair guy)
I'm at a loss here... any advice is appreciated. (it's not the effects loop, btw)

Since the new line just came out recently
