The 212-II stacks width-wise on my 410 MBX. That is, the front cleats lock in, but the cab isn't deep enough for the back ones to do so.

That little sucker it loud! Not that my band is that loud IMO, but the master was barely at 9:00. I guess that's the story with most GK heads though. It's just funny to look back at my other band where I was cranking a 2001RB into an 810 just to keep up with the guitars.
Just curious- where were your Input Gain and Boost set? I use that same combination (MB500 and S15Ds +Jazz bass), but I like the response in the gain if I used the input pad engaged. That way though, its not as loud, and I have to run the master past noon with a band. I haven't found a way to run the input pad off, and still get the dynamic response that allows me to dig in when needed and still sound good, yet loud.

It may be my right hand technique though. I tend to play lightly most of the time. A great player sat in on my rig recently and I was astonished at how much louder he was than I am with the settings unchanged. "sound is in the hands...more than anything else"

I would suggest the current Neo212 cab. Gives you three options... the 2x112 thing you'd use most of the time, a 212/112 option, and a 212 option, though IMHO, the 212 is big enough that I find the 2x112 actually easier to schlepp overall, so I rarely use my 212 (yes, I have one of those, too).

Looks like that 212 is only available in 8ohms (might be reading the spec's wrong... just took a glance at it). If that is the case, not optimal for adding a 112 (the single 12 driver will get twice the wattage of each of the drivers in the 212. With the 800 series MB amp, plenty of wump though with the 8ohm 212.

I think you are probably right, but it feels so good standing in front of them. 😎

Yep... right from their web site... asterisk means "available in 4 or 8 ohm".

Based on the size and weight that I see for the NEO II 1x12, the Baer ML112's are roughly the same size and within a few pounds. Hmmm. More Money, but very possibly more performance in ways I would like. Hmmm.

From what I understand, the ML112 stands alone as a very impressive single 1x12 where I've read the GK Neo II 1x12's make a great stacked 'pair', but one NEO II 1x12 cab might leave me wanting?

Also, I believe you are well acquainted with Bass Gear Magazine. Right? The review I just read of the ML112 was quite impressive.

That is a VERY tempting offer. I'm sure we'd have some laughs! I'll be right over. Let's see, how many thousand mile drive is it? Might get there in time for leftover thanksgiving sandwiches

IMO, fwiw; "a good 112 is a good 112."

If you're wishing for more out of your favorite 210, or current "standard" 112/115; no "supercab" is going to solve that for you.

Strictly my opinion there.

I'm a long time "two small cabs stacked vertical user;''
for several reasons.
Less strain on the cab(s), easier to move than one bigger one, better nearfield monitoring for me.

I'll take any of my 112's to rehearsal, or, a small jazz gig.
Beyond that, I'm always taking two.
Always.

I'm smoking a turkey.
I usually do mole or enchiladas with leftovers, but I can hold enough for a sammich.

Point well taken. I like the stacked pair as well. So the price point makes the NEO II's very compelling with size/weight being very similar. My ears may find a horn loaded 1x12 more familiar. Not necessarily better. Just more familiar. So who knows. As Vic pointed out, The Neo II's can be had quite reasonably ...and from places with very liberal return policies. So in that regard, makes for a relatively risk free test drive. Hmmm

I tried to smoke a Turkey once, but I couldn't keep it lit and it made my head feel kinda funny.

Ok, forget cabs--now you got my attention. You live where? I'll be there with proper Wisconsin beer like you've never tasted.
