Gallien Kruger Poor Delivery

So, I ordered a new MB-112 from MF. It's supposed to be in 9/9, well I get info today that GK has pushed the date to the end of November!

First it was Aug 26, then Sept 9 now November.

What the heck is going on with GK?

Does anyone know why they can't deliver?

I have 3 concurrent gigs in mid Oct thru early Nov and I need the amp.

I am very disappointed at how poorly GK can't manage a product launch.

Give GK a telephone call, and ask them if they can give you better information. Not-for-nothing, but, you're getting your information 2nd hand.... from MF. Why not give the source a call.

Sonofa.....

I have an Amazon gift card in hand and was ready to order the same combo (MB112) from Amazon. It says it's out of stock there but I was assuming it would be shipping in mid-Sep from GK. It looks like the MB115 is out of stock too.

Sigh...

I already have the MB115, that's what sold me on the smaller MB112. I have an old 200MB from 1985, that I still use, but its only 70 watts, not loud enough for what I'm doing right now. GK amps work perfect for me and they sound good, I don't really want to buy anything else. MF said that they have a ton of them on backorder. There are going to be a lot of upset customers besides me. Ill call gk today and inquire.

Something isn't adding up - your 1st post made it sound like you don't have an amp for those gigs, and now you say you already have an MB115 - what's up with that???

Based totally on my anecdotal recollection, I would say that this is not unusual for a new product from GK.

and that exactly, combined with an overwhelming feeling that the end-user is the guinea pig for whether or not the product will fail vs. doing the adequate testing (same feelings with Carvin lately) has kinda sworn me off the brand.

I mean, didn't they delay the launch of the Fusion line for like a year? And now I hear almost zero buzz about them...

Nothing against GK but this is why a company like Genz Benz is a real gem, when they announce a product it's in stock and ready to ship, no fuss, and is backed by the best CS in the business.

Agreed. GK and delays are not uncommon to each other.

I got a GK cab in the mail with a dent in it, decided to keep it and file UPS claim for a little cash back my way for the damage, 3 months later still waiting.

Of course this has nothing to do with GK as its UPS. However call GK customer service or email, I have had great results in the past talking about my 800RB

Well, once you have it you'll either be so bitter you will hate the thing even if it was the cat's ass or love it and it was worth the wait. I accidentally (long story) received a Neo-112II and gotta say, this little box kicks. I like what GK is doing tonally, but agree that they should have the stuff at launch time. It just bums us out when we can't get it quick enough. Musicians don't order stuff until they already needed it typically, I am guilty of that myself. I'm reconsidering selling other pieces to grab some of these little buggers.

That sucks. Been there. Maybe raise a little hell and try to get a good price on the MB115? The GK sound is not really my thing, but the MB115 is really compact, I was surprised it wasn't the a 1x12.

Talked to GK

I spoke to the sales guy at GK. He was nice but not much help. They don't have the amps made, there have never been any in the US and it will be another 6 weeks before they show up. That's if he doesn't move the delivery date again. I did not get a level answer as to what the delay is all about.

He has move the delivery date on these 4 times. They were supposed to be here back in April. You can blame MF if they keep moving the dates.

I told him that GK's lack of communication and neglect of their web site makes them look pretty inept to the consumer. He said that GK runs a minimal staff and their web person is out on maternity leave. Boy, that's some leave since the site has been a mess and not updated for almost a year, until recently.

Oh, they have covers for the new MB amps but they aren't on the web site.

To answer "georgestrings" I own 4 amps - one is at the cartage company and they deliver it when I play large gigs. Another stays at my weekly church gig. My MB115 is in my studio and my 200MB is in the trunk of my car.

I'm doing 2 simultaneous pit gigs and you can't load in and out of the theater every time you do a performance. I need the 2nd 112 for the size, convenience to leave at one gig and use the 200MB at the other. The MB115 is too large to use in this case.
