What is a good price for a five year old
Good condition svt pro 4?

Are there differences in the pro 4's various incarnations
I'm looking at a 2007 model

A friend said his pro 4's mid control creates
A differnent tone on the sane setting when
Compared to other pro 4'd he had tried

I've seen used 4's go from about $700 to $1000 depending on condition. 2006 was the last year they were made in USA. In '07-'09 (I think) they were made in Vietnam, but I'm not sure where they are made now.
But the circuitry should have remained the same throughout all years, so one really shouldn't sound different than another...

+1 should all sound the same. Maybe your friend was mistaken, or his amp was broken(?)

It's possible the tubes might be doing it, but I can't think it would make THAT much of a difference. I hear no differences in old and new ones myself.

Hey Jimmy.. been a while!
I have been playing bass gigs a little more and it is reawakening my mojo for bass again. ( I play keyboard a lot )
The svt pro 4 through a new ampeg 8 10 e sure sounded mighty fine last night!
Esp with my 63 Jazz.

Slightly OT Is it easier to move ( in a hatchback ) 4 x 10 cab or the refridgerator 8 10 cab??
Thank you

Hey Suraci, it indeed has been a while! Good to see you on here again!

Anyway, in a hatchback, a 410 would fit easier, but the good thing about an 810 is you can use leverage to move it as opposed to deadlifting the 410. Neither are exactly fun to move, but between the two, I think the 810 is easier just because of leverage.

The 4Pro in the $750 - $900 range. 810's you can buy used at the $400 - 600 range. Of course for most players the 4Pro is too much amp. Its like driving a Truck down the road for a quart of milk. Same goes for the 810. However once set up and pumping, you can't go back ......
