Gause 4582 15" speaker

I have posted in the past about problems with this speaker, but have new information and am requesting help.
The speaker sounds like I am playing through a Big Muff, yet there did not appear to be any tears or dry rotting of the surrounds. Upon closer inspection (after reading the thoughtful reccomendations of TB posters in my previous post) I have discovered that the outer edge of the speaker has come unglued from the frame. IOW the glue has disolved. After having called a company that does speaker reconing (I was unaware of this discovery at the time of the call) I was informed that parts for reconing this speaker may be unavailable, and if they can be found the cost would be $250 and up. I am of the belief that the speaker cone can be reglued to the frame. However, I do not wish to "damage" the speaker in case some other fellow TBer should be able to repair and use this speaker themselves in the future. The question then: What type of glue? and are there any procedures or things that I should know. It looks fairly obvious, but I dont wish my ignorance to totaly destroy what could be a good speaker. Thank you for your help.

Gel superglue works well. After applying put the driver face down over a counter shielded with a plastic bag so that drips don't glue the driver to the counter. Let sit overnight.
