First off I'dlike to say a huge THANK YOU to Genz Benz for coming out with the STREAMLINER line of amps! I have found my Holy Grail! Now, I have not purchased my SL900 yet. But, I'm sure it is just a matter of time! So before I do, I wanted to ask the TB Brotherhood if anyone knows if GB will be coming out with a SL1200 anytime in the future. A buddy of mine has been playing his for a lil while now and his only criticism he has is that for his outdoor gigs, he says he wished his SL900 had a pinch more "oomph"! So, I thought I'd ask around and see if anyone had heard of a SL1200 possibly in the works. Anyone? |

I have the SL600 here in the shop, I could not imagine that thing at double the wattage. Guitars would rattle off the wall!
I'm not saying that's a bad thing....

At that point it's the difference between
"can probably blow the speakers" and
"can surely blow them".

Yes, I'd ascribe any lack of oomph to cabs more than the amp.

The ShuttleMAX 12.0 uses 2 x 600 watt non-bridged power modules, not a single 1200 module. There's a big difference.

In other words, inside the amp uses two mono bridged amp modules which cannot be bridged together to make one even bigger bridged power amp.

Is one going to be louder than the other?

It's more a matter of matching the amp to your cabinets. Someone with two 4 ohm 2x12" cabinets would be fine with 600 W x 2, while someone with 1515/66 might be better off with 1200 W x 1.

There's supposed to be huge PA system setup for us. I don't care I'm bringing them two cabs; been wanting to try this setup for awhile.
I think that'll do her.....ya reckon? |
