GB... Can you hear me? lol

First off I'dlike to say a huge THANK YOU to Genz Benz for coming out with the STREAMLINER line of amps! I have found my Holy Grail! Now, I have not purchased my SL900 yet. But, I'm sure it is just a matter of time! So before I do, I wanted to ask the TB Brotherhood if anyone knows if GB will be coming out with a SL1200 anytime in the future. A buddy of mine has been playing his for a lil while now and his only criticism he has is that for his outdoor gigs, he says he wished his SL900 had a pinch more "oomph"! So, I thought I'd ask around and see if anyone had heard of a SL1200 possibly in the works. Anyone?

I would guess yes, but not till next year. They do have the ShuttleMax 12.0 so the power amp technology is there.

I have the SL600 here in the shop, I could not imagine that thing at double the wattage. Guitars would rattle off the wall!

I'm not saying that's a bad thing....

Yeah the difference between 900 watts and 1200 watts is hard for me to tell.
At that point it's the difference between
"can probably blow the speakers" and
"can surely blow them".

at this time, I don't have any plans to add a 1200 watt Streamliner.

I'd hazard a guess that more oomph could be had by more/different cabs than a 1200-watt SL. Yes, I'd ascribe any lack of oomph to cabs more than the amp.

Not if it's being run into a single 10 cab!

PS - Yeah, I know you'd get an oomphy cloud of smoke putting 900 into a single 10...

The ShuttleMAX 12.0 uses 2 x 600 watt non-bridged power modules, not a single 1200 module. There's a big difference.

Sorry to nitpick... but IIRC, it uses two stereo 125ASX2 ICEpower modules which are each internally mono bridged. In other words, inside the amp uses two mono bridged amp modules which cannot be bridged together to make one even bigger bridged power amp.

So what's the difference in volume and output with 2 600W modules vs a 1200W? Is one going to be louder than the other?

In principle no difference.... it would allow 600 W x 2 into two 4 ohm cabinets, not 1200 W x 1 into one 4 ohm cabinet. The power is the same either way. It's more a matter of matching the amp to your cabinets. Someone with two 4 ohm 2x12" cabinets would be fine with 600 W x 2, while someone with 1515/66 might be better off with 1200 W x 1.

GB 9-hunert...

add cabs as needed. I'm gonna be doing a couple large outdoor gigs this next May/June where I'll be using my two Epifani, 8 ohm, UL410-II cabs for first time with the GB-900.

There's supposed to be huge PA system setup for us. I don't care I'm bringing them two cabs; been wanting to try this setup for awhile.

I think that'll do her.....ya reckon?
